I believe that WotC's current financial results strongly suggest that the overall answer is No. Yet I also believe that we cant think about Magic as a single game (as it was 30 years ago): modern MTG is more like a collection of different games that happen to share game pieces, and some of those games are more welcoming to new pieces than others
Its abilities favor Witherbloom within the context of Secrets of Strixhaven if you're playing Limited formats, but for Standard, the card slots nicely into a variety of decks, including Mono-Black
