Its an excellent application of a famed bit of D&D loot, and should be fun to surprise opponents with in a pinch

The activated ability has the same pitfall as The Wind Crystal (no creatures = no output), and you need something with good stats or a strong ETB to make it tick

That might sound like a drawback, but with a little deckbuilding finesse, it becomes a win condition

If combo is common, pack more counterspells

Since it's a mana cheap instant, you can do this in response to targeted or sweeping removal to get cards, as a sacrifice or it can send something to your graveyard about to get exiled by Swords to Plowshares, or to get value out of a chump blocker about to die anyway

Its seen a good amount of play in Pioneer midrange decks
